Nowadays there are so many external forces, for example those of the intimate and sexual nature, in magazines, cinema and TV. So we would like to look at this problem from another point of view: from the Yun Chun Quan (Wing Chun) martial arts perspective.

A great source of information is Yuriy Gritsenko’s book, in which he talks to the Master Nguyen Hong Tu. The Master answers over 100 questions on physical, metaphysical and spiritual aspects of Yun Chun Quan martial arts. The Vietnamese name of the spiritual family school is Tyeu-lam Fat-son. The first part of this name (Tyeu-lam) means Shaolin Temple and the second (Fat-son) means mountain Buddhism (its spiritual side).

How is this problem solved on your school?

Yes, ancient schools used to order sexual activity. At the time it was explained as a necessity to care for and maintain this life essence to satisfy energy impulses. It was said that this was one of the necessary steps on the way towards Mastership. There were, however, other systems whose teachings differed in that they developed erotical art, thereby bringing it to the level of a serious science.

The question of sex is prominent at any time. Its solution leads to a healthy family, the health of all family members, the possibility to direct sexual’ energy to life’s needs and creativity, rather than to waste it on sexual activity.

I want to offer you a look at sex from the Wing Chun metaphysical point of view. Let’s take a look at the connection between its attributes and the Basic Elements.

Let’s start from the passive element, which is water’. Now let’s follow the chain of connections it generates.

So when a man has the ability and a woman the desire ( water') to satisfy the body (represented as energy and spiritual needs ( wood’)), a need for contact between them arises ( fire’). This requires intimacy ( earth’), which facilitates the contact of a man's and a woman's sexual organs ( metal’). Such contact intensifies the man's ability and the woman's desire.

At the 'Sky’ level or in the Spirit sphere, a contact with the world of fine feelings, with the world of the wonderful, creativity and an understanding of other dimensions of existence is stimulated. At this level an energy exchange at the Space level occurs. At the Human level or in the Energy sphere, body cleansing and health improvement result thanks to positive emotions and a rythmical breath. This level is characterised by the exchange of energy between the sex participants.

It is known that sexual instinct’s crowing point is conceptual in nature and manifests itself through sexual intercourse. This is possible with the occurrence of the erection. Insemination is possible if the woman has an egg-cell when a man's sperm enters her vagina. The stimulus to the sexual intercourse is the orgasm.

It is noted that the quality of sexual intercourse is affected by the following factors: nutrition, mutual desire, health, partners' experience and their attractiveness.

It is known that the human is an energy system which is characterised as the relationship of exit energy’ to entry energy’. Yoga and Yun Chun Quan, in their essence, are such systems which aim to intensify the entry energy while reducing the exit energy. Overall this helps to increase the energy potential of an organism.

During sexual intercourse, during the erotic dreams and sexual phantasies, huge amounts of energy surge through the sexual organs, nerve centres and biologically active points. This radiates’ into the space’ and a part of it passes to the sexual partner (if there is one). Thanks to active breath, thoughts and feelings concentrate on the sexual object. Here, a large quantity of energy passes from the space (or that object) which itself stimulates this situation. Depending on the balance of in-coming and out-going energy, sexual intercourse may be deemed good or bad for health. It may age the body or make it younger, it may bring dissapointment or satisfaction.

Most of the man's energy is spent during the ejaculation and orgasm. To prevent large energy losses it is better for the man to have one long sexual intercourse rather then several short ones. The prostate gland reacts painfully should the orgasm be delayed. This is why it is necessary to influence it by aid of several strong squeezes. Later the gland will become accustomed to the tougher work routine. When the positive changes occur in the man's and woman's body, the duration of sexual intercourse is about 20 minutes. This is how much time is needed to fully heat through the body, to calm the nervous system and to full energise the partners’ contact. For many men this time works out to be too long. The reasons for this are the following: weak health, reproductive system illnesses, over-bearing desire, poor environment, poor sexual life experience, experience of previous sexual failures, new or un-matching partner, etc. For a person following Wing Chun, sexual intercourse is an internal working (Noi-Kong), and not only an external one. What does this mean? During the sexual play it is important to bear in mind the heat energy at the small of the back: during the cooling of this area, the energy of the kidneys decreases. To those who have weaker kidneys, it is necessary to massage the small of the back until it feels warm during sexual intercourse. One must note that the larger quantities of energy and blood go to the kidneys and reproductive system, rather then to the hands, back, chest and neck. It is necessary, therefore, to control the breath and heart rate. It is very important to look after the woman’s condition. Remember that the erotic’ is an art for two people, not just for one. One gathers positive energy from impressions. Take note of things pleasant, intensify them and ignore any un-needed aspects and unpleasantness.

Lengthy sexual intercourse is not in nature’s favour. Increasing its length is actually an artificial measure which helps one to reach the summit of aesthetic pleasure. But a compromise is needed here. Usually with the upcoming orgasm the man experiences less and less of energy-downs. All moves and impressions get tighter, thus bringing sexual intercourse to an end. It is possible to learn how to slow the process down by distracting one's attention. If directed towards the various qualities as shown in the diagram, then it is possible to learn to manage intercourse in both duration and intensity.

The basics of any sexual play obey the same rules, which manage the moves of celestial bodies. The moon rotates around the earth thanks to the balance of centrifugal (zyong) and centripedal (am) forces.The orgasm can't be separated from the ejaculation just as the spirit is inextricably linked to matter. Nevertheless, matter and spirit can be learned separately.

When learning about problematic issues associated with sex, one shouldn't forget about sex-life hygiene. In the East they say that a small stone breaks a tooth. Don't let carelessness be that stone.
